iLive Reference Guide – Firmware Part 2 - 98 AP6526-2 iss.5
System fails to connect
If you get the CONNECTION FAILED screen when you boot the
system up:
Check that the cables connecting the MixRack and Surface are
correctly plugged in and are not damaged. If you are using a two
cable connection check that they are not crossed over or plugged
into the wrong sockets.
ACE connection Make sure the CAT5 cable is plugged into the ACE
sockets, not NETWORK at each end. Do Not plug in a second
NETWORK cable if you are connecting a fixed format iLive with ACE.
The network is bridged over the ACE connection.
If you are using a single cable connection via the ACE option card in
the modular iLive RAB2 Port A slot then make sure the NETWORK
connection is bridged at both ends using short CAT5 jumper cables.
Network connections (select a MixRack) Touch the Network
Connections button. If you are attempting to connect to a MixRack
with a name or network address that has been changed or to one that
is different to the last rack connected, you may need to select it using
this screen.
Touch the Change MixRack button to open a list of MixRacks
recognised on the network. Select the MixRack you want to connect
to and touch Apply and Restart.
Dual-Rack settings If the Master and Slave MixRack in a Dual-Rack
system have the same IP address then they will not connect and the
system will hang due to network conflict. This may be the case if both
MixRacks have had their IP addresses reset to the default
192.168.1.1. Make sure each MixRack has a compatible but unique IP
address before connecting them together. You can set this by
resetting one MixRack and connecting the other to the Surface or
Editor to change its IP address before connecting the first.
If a MixRack left in Slave mode is connected to a Surface as a single
rack system it will also fail to connect. Reset its network settings
using the recessed switch as described earlier in this guide.
Reset network IP addresses If the MixRack is not recognised then
its IP address or operating mode may not be compatible with the rest
of the system. In this case reset the 3 network addresses to factory
default so that the MixRack, Surface and TouchScreen can see each
other and reconnect. Once reconnected you can change the network
settings to suit your application. Reset the network settings as
described earlier in this guide.
Note: Resetting the addresses in this way should only be done if
you are using a single stand alone system. Do not do this if you are
connected to a DHCP server or system network with other devices
connected. For complex network arrangements refer to your IT
manager or use standard networking tools to diagnose problems.
For further diagnostics you could try connecting a laptop running
iLive Editor to 'MixRack + Surface', or to 'MixRack only'.
